Professor Peter Kochenburger will speak at the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals 21st Annual E-Day on May 12, 2017, at the University of Connecticut's main campus in Storrs. He will speak on consumer protection initiatives.
On February 23, 2016, Professor Sachin Pandya presented a paper, Joint Liability Without Joint Employer, at the Future of Labor and Employment Law: Power, Policies, and Politics Symposium, at Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas.
Professor Sachin Pandya co-authored an amicus brief, filed February 16, 2016 on behalf of several non-profit organizations, in Griffin v. Sirva, Inc., No. CTQ-2016-00002, a case currently before the New York Court of Appeals. The appeal concerns New York law that prohibits any person from denying employment to any individual because of his or her criminal conviction history.
Professor Peter Kochenburger has been reappointed a consumer liason representative for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners for 2017. Kochenburger is one of 35 consumer liaisons who advise commissioners on consumer interests relating to the insurance industry by promoting interaction between consumers and commission members. Kochenburger has been a consumer representative since 2010.
