Professor Jessica Rubin was inducted into Connecticut Humane Society’s Gertrude O. Lewis Humanitarian Society on November 9, 2019 at the annual Diamonds in the Ruff gala. She is only the fifth person to earn the prestigious designation. Rubin was instrumental in drafting and implementing Desmond’s Law, which allows Connecticut courts to appoint advocates, including law students under supervision, in animal cruelty cases. Read more.
Professor Peter Lindseth will present a seminar entitled Beyond Brexit: Learning Lessons from Backlash in Governance Beyond the State on Oct. 25, 2019, at the European Institute at University College London.
Professor Peter Kochenburger will speak at the Fall Meeting of the Casualty Actuaries of New England on Oct. 11, 2019 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He and David Snyder, vice president of the American Property Casualty Insurance Association, will discuss and debate insurance regulation and public policy in a session on the "Future of Insurance Regulations."
Professor Sachin Pandya will present a paper titled “What Taft-Hartley Did to Joint-Employer Doctrine” on Oct. 11, 2019, at the Colloquium on Current Scholarship in Employment and Labor Law, in Las Vegas.
