The awards, accomplishments, speaking engagements and news of the distinguished faculty of the Insurance Law Center at the University of Connecticut School of Law:
Professor Alexandra D. Lahav will speak at the Litigation and Remedies Joint Program at the 2020 Annual Meeting of the American Association of Law Schools in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 4, 2020. She will moderate a panel discussion on how voting rights remedies are administered, their timing and their limitations.
Professor Leslie C. Levin will speak at the Professional Responsibility program at the 2020 Annual Meeting of the American Association of Law Schools in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 4, 2020. She will participate in a panel discussion on changes to the legal profession, and discuss the possibility of fundamental reconsideration of how societies regulate the legal profession, the practice of law, and the delivery of legal services.
Professor Peter Kochenburger has been named to the Connecticut Insurance Department’s new Advisory Council on Regulation. The council is charged with developing suggestions "related to regulations that affect the insurance industry and consumers."
Professor Jessica Rubin was inducted into Connecticut Humane Society’s Gertrude O. Lewis Humanitarian Society on November 9, 2019 at the annual Diamonds in the Ruff gala. She is only the fifth person to earn the prestigious designation. Rubin was instrumental in drafting and implementing Desmond’s Law, which allows Connecticut courts to appoint advocates, including law students under supervision, in animal cruelty cases. Read more.
