Professor Peter L. Lindseth spoke at the Sciences Po Law School in Paris on two recent occasions. On June 21, 2018, he spoke during the Intensive Doctoral Week program on the topic "Comparative-Historical Method in the Study of Administrative Law: A Theoretical Framework" in a panel discussion on "A New Approach to Comparison in Administrative Law." The following day he discussed "Transforming factors in administrative law" at The Future of Administrative Law conference.
The American Bar Association honored Professor Alexandra Lahav with an honorable mention in the prestigious 2018 Silver Gavel Awards for her book In Praise of Litigation. The book, published in February 2017 by Oxford University Press, refutes the notion that the United States is awash in frivolous lawsuits and describes how restrictions on the ability to bring suit undermine a pillar of American democracy. Professor Brendan Maher has been appointed to the Connecticut Captive Insurance Association Board of Directors. Maher, along with seven other new board members, was introduced at the board's annual meeting on April 23, 2018.
Professor Peter Lindseth gave a presentation entitled "Theorizing Backlash: Power and Legitimacy in International Investment Law and Arbitration" during a workshop on "Comparative and International Investment Law: Prospects for Reform" on April 22, 2018, in Doha, Qatar. The workshop was organized by the Hamad Bin Khalifa University College of Law and Public Policy.
