Stephen Goldman

Stephen E. Goldman has been involved in insurance coverage litigation for approximately 45 years, with the most significant concentration of his work involving property insurance litigation throughout the United States. Mr. Goldman has been involved in trial court litigation in approximately 35 states and has also argued appeals in eight of the eleven regional federal circuit courts of appeal, as well as in 11 different state appellate courts. He has handled numerous precedent-setting cases in matters arising from catastrophes such as Superstorm Sandy, Hurricanes Katrina and Andrew, the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the anthrax scare in 2001, the Chinese drywall crisis and the COVID pandemic, and has also been involved in the defense of numerous class actions arising out of insurance coverage and market conduct issues.
Mr. Goldman is a fellow in the American College of Coverage Counsel, for whom he has served as chair of the Property Insurance Section, and is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, for whom he has served as Connecticut State Chair. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, for whom he chaired the Property Insurance Committee. He is also a past chair of the Property Insurance Committee of the American Bar Association. He has authored numerous articles on property insurance related topics. Between 2016 and 2021, Mr. Goldman also served as the Managing Partner of Robinson & Cole LLP, an AmLaw 200 firm with offices throughout the Eastern United States.
